Ok I have a brain fart at the moment,

if i turn my float bowl upside down so the main jet etc is pointing up and the float bowl is resting on the spring to hold it up, if i adjust my float bowl to rest higher(away from the flange) will that richen or lean it out?

it will do neither!

the float HEIGHT is like your toilet cistern stop cock thingy, designed to stop the flow of fuel to stop the carb from flooding,

you want the carbs on there side not on there back,

If you adjust the float bowl so the floats sitting higher this will LEAN out the mixture.

It will let less fuel into the bowl and LEAN out the mixture.

The other way will RICHEN up the mixture.

Adjusting float height will change the mixture throughout the entire rev-range but will have most effect at idle and part throttle cruise.

Anyhow.. do not TUNE the bike by adjusting the float heights.. they should be set to factory specs.

Once the main/pilot jets are perfect slight vibey-ness (best work to use) at part throttle and idle can be tuned out by moving the float height 1mm from stock either way. Anymore than 1mm and the pilot jets are wrong, but this isn't going to be the case unless you have majorly altered the bike.

it isnt for my nc35 i just know you boys on this forum are pretty hot at tuning and playing with carbs, but advice was needed for another project bike that has lost its crisp throttle response, it has a slip on and was hoping it may just need to be richened slightly as nothing else is done.

but i will go away with your advice and if the 1mm of play dont work then i will upjet, thanks again.

The pilot screw setting is usually responsible for these symptoms.
