I remember looking at one when I bought my first CB-1.

The engines are generally not highly-regarded, but it'll be what you make of it - has a nice frame too, a bit Harris Magnum-ey if you squint just right :)

I know mate, it does have the 2 side springs that all cafe racer has, I couldn't afford an early type one, shame, they make great little cafey racers. Ill see if I can swop the wheels over with spoke ones. See what I can do with her. A cafe race seat and lower the clip ons and clocks, open up the engine bay and I might be half way there. Iv heard same about the engine, nothing to get excited about but hey, country roads and taking in the veiws I reckon she ll do fine :)

Cafe racers are cool 8-) looking forward to this one. I got a old US spec CB650 that might one day turn a wheel

DO IT!....DOO IT! Lol

It also looks like the old school nsr alcast, remember those! Ill strip her all back and see what's what, if it can't be done and ends up looking more like a rat bike or such, ill put her back to standard n flog her. Trying to find an exhaust for her at the month! Apperntly there not easy to come across.

If your going to cafe racer it get a pipe made, stick a old TZ seat unit on, black paint work with white pinstripe and she'll look sweet mate

That's right mate, it will all be in the detail. Not worth sourcing an exhuast spose, your right. Black with white checker maybe. Ill reckon she convert alright, shame about the tank shape, curves with the frame, not cafe style but the rest should work out! Be alreet.

bad news, and i sort of new it would be, its not gunna work for a cafe project. i need an earlier model, those go for hundreds even in scrap condition cos they have the lines to pull it off. im looking at 350s 250s even 200s, seen a few realy scrape heeps go for around 150-250 lol but were talking buckets of rust tbh lol

oh well, its a tart and part the cb350sg i have. some mugs gone at the main harness with a pair of garden shers or somin lol what a mess!

Dont knock the old CB350 to much they arnt that bad a bike. Thats had a major strip at some point as the frame swas originally redon those & the only bit on the motors that goes a bit cack is the ballance shaft drive chain. but otherwise good bikes them, also comes under the 33hp rule so dont need restricting if your a new rider.
Good luck with it
