R&G crash bungs - NC30

Hey all,

Been looking at some R&G crash bungs from my racebike and there are 2 types:- cut the fairings and don't cut the fairings!

Since it is a racebike, I'm not fussed about cutting holes in the fairings, but what I am curious is how the two designs differ and therefore is one more effective than the other?

The non-fairing cut bungs are about twice the price of the cut ones, so I'm just wondering if that cost is just to save you from cutting them or if it also reflects a newer/better design?

Thanks
Luke

The non cutting ones are probably the better option al round - they have as supporting bar and bracket between them.

The drill ones mount on the unused engine mounting bolts and so can snap these off (and feck your casing)

That is exactly what I was thinking/hoping! Same design change on my old SV

Thanks for the info!

go for the non cuts!, iv had 6 high speed racing offs with them over the last few years high and low sides and the worst thing that happened was I bent (not broke) a brake lever and clip on!

vfr's do crash very well becuase of there thin nature I found the combination of rearsets r&g bungs and ally clip on tubes the bike is held well clear of the road as it slides, wouldnt hesitate to fit them to a future bike

I came off once with non-cuts and it completely snapped the engine mount in half

Non-drills are the way forward.
