So, i pass my test, insure the bike (which has been starting and running fine in my garden) and then i come to start it for the first ride and nothing. It turns over fine, but just wont catch.

i've checked the battery- fully charged.

its got spark and fuel.

However the plus are quite wet so i'm assuming its flooded?

Whats the procedure for getting the bike going again?

i took out all the plugs, dried and cleaned them up but still wont start.

Yes, the kill switch is in the right position and the vac hose is both new, and connected.

What now?

Do you just have to leave it for a few days to dry out or is there some magic trick to getting it running?

i'm trying to start it with full chock, no throttle and the fuel tap in both the on and the res position.

Full choke no throttle, hit the starter, let it catch, leave for a few seconds then GENTLY blip the throttle.... then VROOM VROOM and Bob's ya uncle lol.... Well, works for me

problem is its not catching- just spinning over.

Just read that opening the throttle wide open when trying to start will help to clear the flooded cylinders by letting only air in?
Does this sound right. i thought you shouldn't go near the throttle when trying to start the NC30?

he means once you have dried the plugs out and put them back in.. you could try bumping it if you dont wanna take the plugs out.. then starting it after that is how vfrderek has described..

did this with mine while it was flooded
take plugs out and turn it over on the button, will make a loud bang like, make sure no one smoking lol
just gets rid of all the fuel stuck in the chambers

How new/old are the plugs?

no idea. i bought the bike 2 months ago. its started on the button every time before.

I've checked all 4 plugs and they all have a pretty strong looking blueish spark.

i've just ordered some new ones online as i figured i might as well replace them anyway even if they're not the cause of this issue.

I guess they'll come sometime early next week.

Just want to try and rule out anything else.

have you tried bumping it? once it fires it should be ok after that

No. not bumped it but surely this would only help if the battery were dead?. It spins over fine.
