Okay, new bike...what to look out for? help please.

Post by xivlia »

okay, so ive finally sold my Yzf R125 and now moving onto an NC30. i know its an old bike, so before i buy it from a private seller. what should i need to look out for?. the person im buying it from says, that the fuel pump is broken, but i read on forums that the NC30 does NOT have a fuel pump that it just uses gravity to send the fuel down the vavle. although the person claims he doesnt know much about bikes either soo i dont know :P im going for a viewing and i would like to know which points i need to check the bike before buying it. so please guys help out a noobie :D

Cheers.

where abouts are you. i'm sure if a member is close by they may come and view it with you..
one word of advice, dont take the cash with you. these bikes make you fall in love with them at first sight, and once you hear it start up you'll be counting out out your hard earned cash in minutes..
have you got many to look at? my advice is shop around! go far and wide..
if your lucky it will be ok but if your really really lucky you may see you one listed in the bikes for sale section on here.
post up links to the bikes you aare looking at and you can get members opinions on here before you even call the seller

It has a vacuum pipe which goes from one o the inlet tracts to the fuel tap to open it, then gravity does the rest. If he's selling it as a non runner you may get a bargain and only have to replace a bit of pipe!

If the seller thinks the (non-existant) fuel pump is the problem then just agree with him. It will give you a bit more bargaining power, and as we all know, NC30 fuel pumps are really expensive. :? ;)
