Why would you do this?

I just took the forks of my NC30 track bike to change the oil and noticed something strange.
I've only just bought the bike and it had supposedly already been setup for track use for a 75kg rider (perfect for me).

However, 2 strange things:

1. the left leg had only 250ml of oil whereas the right had 390.

2. the rebound adjuster on the left turns but has no discernible notches, the right does.

Is this some suspension tuning trick I don't know about? or, is the previous owner a muppet and the left rebound
adjuster just broken.

Thanks in advance,

Al.

Neither are a trick for tuning.

Fork seal gone and so losing fluid is what springs to mind. You need the right amount of fork oil or they don't damp very well!!

the adjusters need cleaning and fixing, they have a little spring ball jobbie that clicks. Common issue
