600 fuel reserve

hi still thinking of doing this conversion and sorry if this has been covered, but if the switch doesnt work to switch into reserve how do you know when you are close to being empty?

I just keep an eye on the distance I've done, but that means remembering to zero the trip!

What does the 600 use ???
I gusee you could use the same system

Not sure what the problem is here, the 400 reserve switch plugs straight into the 600 loom and works in just the same way. The 600 even has a fuel light, if you use the 600 dash.

This is for a 3TJ and 4JH hybrid.

How do you wire the fuel level sender in? Is it just a case of splicing the 3TJ tank into the 4JH loom? The 4JH loom has a 3 pin plug for the pump, sender and earth and the 3TJ has two seperate 2 pin plugs. It's good if it's a simple fix like that!

There was some splicing of connectors/loom. I can't remember if I modified the 4JH loom or the sender in the tank, I think it was the loom as I replaced the sender at a later time.
The wiring was a simple fix, I'll try to get some time to have a look and see how I did it.

There is definitely a reserve switch and a fuel light on my bike and it didn't cost me anything to do it!

Sorry for the late reply, but I've just not had time to get into the garage recently!

I do remember now, that I modified the 4JH loom to splice on the connectors for the sender and pump. The three wires in the 4JH loom are the same as the 3TJ loom, just in different connectors and an additional ground.
The 4JH has the pump in the tank, while the 3TJ is on the top of the engine, I just identified which wire controlled which and connected up the right wires!
