hey all,
Im looking to get the forks off the nc23 this weekend and strip them. Im going to get the fork lowers powdercoated i think although I may just spray them myself to save time/money.
does anyone know any good contacts on here who and source springs etc and would be willing to re-build the forks for me at a good price. Ive contemplated doing it myself but im not that confident with suspension yet.
any help would be great,
thanks

I'd like to know that to!
Something to do in the off season - getting the bike set up for next summer!
Cheers

Graeme France does a fork kit, new springs and spacers etc matched to the riders weight. I got one off him and the difference was like night and day.
He'll probably rebuild them for you, however, if you've got a haynes manual for the bike have a go yourself, it's really not that hard at all. And Graeme's always on the end of the phone if you come unstuck.
Cant remember exactly what I paid for the kit but whatever it was it was worth every penny.
The only advice I would give is to buy the tool for seating the new seals, it's not essential but made life a hell of a lot easier.
Hope that helps.

Or if you're not seperating the forks just get a pair of needle nose pliers in and rip them out, at the end of the day they're wrecked anyway. Just be careful not to score the seat or the stanchions. It's not exactly splitting the atom stuff!!

Hi for Powder try Tristans which are local to you and very cheap, I had my forks, wheels and casing all powder for £100. They also do a range of colours. Pretty good job but they did miss the brake pipe carrier thread which is a bit of a pain. Can't find prices like that anywhere else near me and the boss is a top bloke.
I think that the tool being referred to is for seating the top bush and oil seal, makes it very simple, GF does one for £40 and it does make the job easy.
Cheers
