I am looking to upgrade the front forks on my NC29 with some upside down types.

Does anyone know which forks are compatible which require only slight mods? I want the facitily for these new forks to be fully adjustable. I have looked at the CBR1000 ande 600 type but these look too large.

The RVF forks would appear to be conventional type.

Any recomendations would be brilliant.

cheers

I've just fitted RVF forks to mine you need to grind or turn the weld off on the bottom yoke then swap the stems.

Job done.

The later type nc29 forks are fully adjustable, i had a set off Greame France. Awesome handling, although they are still RWU forks. So if you want bling you will have to go down the rvf/cbr600rr route.

thanks guys,

i will look at the rvf`s if i can get hold of usd`s.

I have been looking at gsxr 400 and zxr400 forks. I assume these would be the same dims etc and the same wheel size. has anyone tried these before. i am ideally wanting usd`s.

any help

If you want fully adjustable usd forks,
you will need to go for the zxr/gsxr SP model forks,
or later forks such as the cbr600rr.
Quite a few of the KR1s boys have fitted the zx6r usd forks with radial calipers etc.
buying from the good old USA can save you a few bob and loads of zx6r usd forks on american fleabay..

You could do worse than 96-7 cbr900 forks. These are final generation RWUs, use excellent brakes, are cheap, use your wheel and discs, and fit straight in (to nc27, guess also nc23/9)

Unless what you really want is the bling, in which case you will have to work a bit harder for it.

cbr900 forks are a bit long. cbr600rr, 2003-2004 in usa, last year RWU forks are almost spot on for length, fully adjustable, great brakes, pretty cheap, and plug and play. The axle is 20mm though, and rotors are different. BUT, sp1 (rc51)wheel works a treat, and looks like stock nc29/30.

so it's either RVF400 USD forks
or 600RR forks which are RWU?

all other forks are quite complicated to fit in?
 i really want USD
