Hi im planning on getting r6 downpipes for my 3tj as ive just found a big hole in my downpipes. Now the start of the questions
.Do you need to modify them much so they will fit? is it really hard or quite simple. My fathers a welder so modifying shouldn't be a problem
.what year downpipes should i get so that i still keep the exup?
.also if anyone has any that will already fit an fr 3tj let me know at the right price i would buy them

You have to cut and reweld them to get them to fit and I can't remember if you loose the exup.

If your dad can weld then I'd recomend you get the downpipes copied and then weld them onto your original exup chamber.

Ive just been searching through looking for information i know it will be abit difficult getting the r6 ons to fit. Would thundercat pipes be any better and im not to keen on having to set the carbs up again as ive just had to get a new set of jets and carbs cause my previous ones were ruined.

The T'cat ones will be the right cylinder spacing but to long for the engine / bodywork / ground clearance. Without an exup you'll need to rejet

You can get the downpipes copied, in stainless probably by somebody in a classic bike type mag, it was done by somebody on here before.

OK cheers will have to try get hold of some or do a quite fix on them

Found some replacement ones on ebay, they look in ok-ish condition...

They look good but unfortunately they are collection only i live too far away cheers anyway

Why not contact the guy and ask if you can arrange a corrier to pick them up from his work ?
Then got through Parcels2go ... save the label to you desk top and email it to him.
He'll need to wrap the down pipes in bubble wrap or newspaper then put them in a bin bag and tape them up

If he doesn't go for that put a post in the main general section for somebody local to pick them up and post them to you. Somebody will sort you out.

Yeh good idea. Will ask him if he will take a buy it now price and try to sort out postage.
