I asked in another thread but didn't get an answer - are they really actually lighter? Has anyone weighed them next to each other? I ask as some measurements I took when converting my CB-1 to dual discs would throw doubt on that. VTR[1000f] disc = 1.28kg
CBR400 [nc29] disc = 1.14kg
CBR400 [nc29] front wheel with 120/60-17 Michelin Pilot sport, CBR900 axle, bolt and spacers (10mm longer = heavier), pair of VTR discs = 11.10kg
CB-1 front wheel with 110/80-17 Avon Roadrider, CB-1 axle and spacers, single CB-1 disc = 11.33kg.
Didn't see that one coming. So the bottom line is, if I fit a pair of mega-drilled discs, the whole twin disc front wheel assembly will be about 500g of rotating, unsprung weight LIGHTER than the original single disc assembly. Surprised? Just a bit!!
