does the fzr750 motor go in the 3TJ
just noticed this bike outside a local bike shop, well tatty but altogether,
i was looking at what i thought was an fzr600 foxeye, but turns out it's a 750, on first inspection they look similar, but are they ? and will it fit ?

Nope ... well not without a lot of cutting.
Do the 600 because the crankcases are common to both engines

I think the 750 cases are similar to the 1000 cases. I sized up a Thunderace engine for my 3TJ at first and the rear mounts appeared to be in the right position but were too wide, so either the frame would've needed to be modified or the engine. I think the head might be a smidge too wide to fit between the standard frame mounts. I like your thinking though

much as i thunked, but it was worth a shot,
with a bit of haggling i could have picked the 750 up for a song
never mind there's always tomorrow

I think it was originally owned by somebody on here. They said it was a wheelie machine but because of that would break the steering head bearings. The engine had to be dropped to change the plugs etc.
It was a good idea but the reality is the frame is physically to small for the engine
