1st time at Outlon Park on the NC - Very, very impressed

I've done Oulton park a few times now but only on my CBR600rrrrrrrrrr. So this was my first trackday on the NC30 since i sold the CBR. I only live 40 miles away from Oulton park and the forecast looked decent so i decided to ride to the track instead of hiring a van. (plus its cheaper) Took a roll of gaffer tape and sorted the bike out once i arrived.
What can i say about the performance on the NC30 at Oulton....i'm amazed. What a cracking bike. I was faster on the NC than i ever was on my old CBR. Ok some of this is down to more experience but i was so much smoother on the NC than i ever was on the CBR. Maybe because the bike is somewhat nearer my capabilities than the CBR.. who knows.
The bike itself is a great track riding bike. I know now why so many of you race them. As those of you who do regular track days probably already know, you can almost guarantee that you will be on the smallest cc bike there. It makes you try that little bit harder i think. On more than one occaison we passed R1's and some big Ducatis. Fair enough they came howling past on the straights but the NC can embarress newer, larger bikes at certain parts of the track. More than a few times i could pass bikes on corners, not only that.. the pull out of the corners is superb on the NC. You can stick with alot of high spec bikes for the first 10-30 meters out of a corner before their 80bhp advantage kicks in.
Since i did the few jobs on my bike its been running as sweet as a nut. The engine was singing around the track, and never looked liked missing a beat. You can really stretch its legs at Oulton with it being a large track. I had the bars wagging a few times with some ham fisted gear changes whilst coming over the crest but its sure is exciting! The brakes are standard with braided lines, they where good enough for me and you can be very late and heavy on the brakes when you really push them.
The suspsension was.. not bad, i really need a new shock but it still handled well enough to give me confidence in chucking the bike in at some speed.
I was on road tyres.. Bridgestones... 090's. They are good for road and track. I don't know if they where getting too hot but later on in the day i felt like they where almost too soft at times and i wasn't getting the bite of the corners. Still... they are miles ahead of my talent.
Finished the last session... pulled the gaffa tape off the lights and rode home exhausted...
GET ONE BOOKED!!!!
