Hi all! New to the board and looking for some help when it comes to ignition.

I've reassembled the Bandit after a long winter and nearly everything working (sans brake light and turn signals, just waiting for some resistors to come in). However, the bike refuses to start.

I got the bike in a running condition at the beginning of winter and disassembled it, repairing and replacing as needed throughout the season. Now though it refuses to produce a spark. The coils read the correct primary and secondary resistances, as does the signal generator. 12V is getting to the CDI as well as both of the coils. Still though, while the engine freely cranks with a fully charged battery I can't get a single spark.

What are the steps to be taken to determine the cause of this issue?

As an aside, if anyone has a contact at banditalley I have tried applying there as well but have not gotten confirmed as a member in over a month. Thanks!

Hi, must be something simple. If you have 12v at the coils and they are connected the correct way then it has to be something like the pickup or back wire/connection on the pickup circuit or maybe neutral sensor fault as the bike will not start when in gear.

Turns out it was something quite simple, so it seems. I had the wiring to the stick coils backwards. I swapped them around and *poof* spark appears. Now I just need to get the fueling down and a running bandit I'll have!
