RVF 160 rear with 525 chain

Read through a topic on NC30's with 160 rear tyres but couldn't find a definite answer on the NC35.
Just fitted a Dunlop Sportsmart 160/60/17 to my RVF and i have to say im concerned with the clearance to the 525 chain i have on. Due to the chain cover i can't get a clear look at the gap but its really close. Anybody else used one with standard chain and sprocket size?
Thanks

V for victory me thinks
As for the tyre, i run a 160 with a 520 chain and it's close, but you should have about 2mm - 3mm clearence.
Why did you go for the 160?

Lol very funny! CBR is good but the handling of the RVF is brilliant.... CBR suspension is my fault so can't blame the bike for that... just lack of money

Get a Chain kit from RO. It moves it over slightly if you don't it will catch the edge of the tyre.
Or as Jeff says get a 520 chain.

I went for the 160 purely down to wanting to try the new Dunlop Sportsmart after its reviews on performance and tyre life. I have had 150 Dunlop Alpha 10's and Bridgestone BT-090's and they're awesome but can't stand the 1000 mile life. Im not good enough to notice the difference that the wider tyre should bring with cornering but hopefully my bank balance should be better with not buying rear tyres so soon

Thanks for the heads up on that kit. My chain and sprockets are like new so didn't really want to go buying a 520 kit if there was another option. Thanks again

Yeah it's not expensive about 15quid I think, pushes the chain and sprockets over a few mill

Got a kit myself and waiting to hoping to put it on this weekend.
Heavy duty chain and 160 tyre not a good mix. Already munched the edge of tyre, but as i am unlikely to be visiting this area of rubber on my travels any time soon, i am not too concerned.
Roundabout laps use the right side of tyre anyway!

Aha so it is going to be a problem

I was going to go out through the village and back so see if it caught. Thanks you saved me the chore. Just checked up on Ricks stocklist and at £14 is going to be well worthwhile. What does it comprise of exactly? Good luck on the right handside of that tyre lol
