Other than the usual used bike things, if it's a 3EN1 check the front brake discs. They're smaller than the later ones and it's slightly more difficult to find a good used pair. Check the headers for rot and check the EXUP works ok. 3EN2 fairings seem to be thin on the ground too (I've got one on the lift at the minute).
If it's cheap (less than £400), buy it- they're lovely bikes

Glad to see you realised that the better bit of the forum is at the bottom!
i've got a set of straight discs and a decent right side panel from a 3en1 with a damage repairable left and top fairing if you want/need any of them let me know!

When you turn the ignition on there should be a "weep weep" noise from the exup serv. The exup is on the pipes by the sidestand, check the cables move when the bike's running.
Ask when the valve clearances were done.
I've got a pair of 3en1 black fairing lowers

it's the bottom that supports the rest (nearly said holds em up, but imagine the comments the honda lot would have posted then) and at least your an IL4 man not to big a change to a yam and you'll go faster
so did you get it?

Now then, I'll have you know I have a 3TJ living in my garage right now! It is making friends with my V4s and is already good mates with my ZX7
It needs a fettle and I may even drag up an old post as it has some issues that I am trying to sort.
