came in from the shed last night at silly o clock, couldnt sleep so went on e-bay,and had a look for 3tj spares and there it was-a brand new in the box, unused 3tj petrol tap £20 or best offer

ive been looking for one for bloody ages-i couldnt get one from fowlers as they say theyre now discontinued, and im down to my last barely useable tap-you know the story-plastic bit in the middle of the tap goes hard then eventually no matter how gentle you are wth the screwdriver one side of the slot snaps,so you have to use long nosed pliers to turn it on and off,and where its brittle each time it gets a little smaller and then starts to weep petrol-but not anymore!does anybody know of a good alternative tap that will fit on the 3tj/4dx as the tank on my track bike needs one too!!!

This was a few years ago, so memory fading. I'm sure a mate of mine fitted one from an R6 (early carby model).
It would be best to check dimensions before buying one.

Or just put a dry break connector in the fuel line, the you can remove the tank without having to turn off the tap!
You can also put it in a more accessible place...
