Hiya chaps,
new to the forum and have joined as it seems that you lot have the same love of messing about with high revving jap imports and having a laugh! Fantastic!!
I have a question though and it relates to my Mrs's NC23. I have just finished putting it back together after smashing the living daylights out of it several years ago to the speck that you may see here if i can get my photos to transfer! Anyway I digress, the problem I have is that she is only small and cant quite get her feet down on the floor flat and is causing her some lack of confidence when out on th road, and quite rightly so!
Soooooooo, does anybody know of anyone who does lowering kits for these or indeed if anyone knows how to shorten the lingake a bit so the Doris can get her feet down?
I have tried FI international and various other places to no joy so I put the question out to you lot, can anyone help to sort this and help me get the hearing back in my left ear as she is pestering me to the point of distraction!!!
Help anyone?

Yeah I had the same thought but theres not enough foam to start off with. If I carve any more out of it i may aswell have a bit of felt for her to sit on, LOL.
No, it really is gonna be a lowered shock linkage really as I dont want to spend a fortune on a replacement shock for it, well not this year anyhow!
It was a call for help to see if anyone had fitted a different, shorter shock instead or indeed if there was a lowering kit anyone knew about. I may have to go down the route of getting some linkage bits made up or something if I draw a blank on this one!
In the piccy the back wheel is on th epath which is slightly lower than where the front wheel is so it looks like it's not that bad but really when she is on the flat she's right on her toes meaning hill starts and wot not are gonna be hard for her. She hasnt ridden for about 7 years and is doing some training again before she goes back out. I appreciate it isnt the best bike for her but its what she wants and besides she loves it

Sounds like the problem a lot of women bikers face!
The seats are pretty minimal on these things as they stand anyway, ensure that the shock is on its lowest setting (lower part is adjustable with c-spanner), you can even drop the front forks slightly (half an inch can make a huge difference)
Even think about replacing the rear wheel with a 17 incher from an NC29 (have a browse on the forum for info)
All of these options may help enough to not have to warrant an expensive rear shock upgrade etc. If you decide on replacing the shock however, there are plenty of places that will rebuild shocks with shorter springs but it can get costly!
Cheers!

Success! I managed to get the shock to un wind a treat and after dropping the forks 15mm through the yolks the Doris xcan now get her feet down and feels a great deal more confident on the bike...........couldnt see the wood for the trees, thanks all who posted.
Whilst faffing and as she was in a good mood she got me to respray the exhaust system and rear hugger; another Sunday gone without a ride on my own toy!!!
pics to follow once I have got all the masking off and she looks tidy again, the bike that is not the Doris!
Top site lads and thanks for all the help

Found another solution - Increase the height of the wife.
Consider a rack to stretch the wife (local Honda centre suggestion)
Found some less painful options, but not for the wallet - Daytona Lady star GTX boots (google them).
The GTX boots give an increase of 6.5cm! The Mrs calls them her Magic Tom Cruise boots.
But then found on fleabay 'Height Increase Insoles' (search fleabay) added another half inch or so inside her standard boots.
These gel soles seem to be very comfy and cheaper then the GTX.
Have also dropped the rear spring and on a previous bike, dropped the front by 12mm. Dropping the front will increase the speed of the turn in, so be aware of this.
5' and a rizla paper tall will now fit confidently on an NC29 with feet flat on floor.

She had a look at them and decided she didnt like the style...........bloody women ha ha.

The Doris sounds the same height as yours so I know what your up against bud, needless to say she is happy with the result and having taken it for a test ride I love the way the bloody thing now turns on a sixpence, a proper hoot.
I have got the track bike dyno'd up now and running a treat so its play time after my jollies next month. Its an NC23 with a 600 fl engine with all the associated gubbins that enable it to be ragged about, bought it off a chap on here and has all the makings of a good giggle. I'm a track day virgin so any advice on a reasonably good surfaced track no further north than Lincolnshire would be gratefully received if anyone has any? If not I'll start a thread on another page that might be more appropriate but any gratefully received
