I bought some nc30 Fame crash bobbings off Ebay a few months ago, 1st aspect of buying them was to minamize damage to new fairings, paint, frame, etc,, 2nd aspect, they look good (IMO)
But the only obvious place for these to bolt on to is the un-used front lower engine lugs (is this right!). this would mean cutting a little out of lower fairing (top edge of air vent) shouldnt be to much trouble, but im worried if i was to fit these onto engine lugs and i was to come off my bike.. would the impact to bobbings/lugs then damage my engine!!! Maybe im being parranoid,,

Or the second option is, im debating drilling into the alloy V peice/ front frame mounts, which you can see through the vent/s in middle section fairing! threading the hole to suit bolt or just simply put a nut on the back of frame mount... Where do you guys fit yours?

Can you put a link up to the one's you bought? Most bobbins except the R&G non-drill bungs require you to cut a half moon shape out of your fairings to enable fitting. If you have genuine Honda panels please do not do this, instead buy yourself some proper crash protection like I have fitted to my bike:

Hi alex, hope your well? ile get some pictures put on after of the bobbings i bought.. currently on Ebay, same seller sells the fork bobbings too? I dont have original fairings, bought tyga standard 2 peice top and lower fairing, rc45 rear! Yeh, i am expecting that if i do fix to the lower engine mount., then i will have to take half moon out of lower fairing? would they be sat to low here.. on your bike they look to be higher up, looks better and makes scence to be there.

Bike looks the mutts nuts mate, should you not be out on it.. lol

just checked your bobbings again, my mistake? they are mounted abit lower than i 1st thought.. so i should fix bobbings to those lower lugs.. Ahy well.

The crash bungs I use come with very strong mounting plates which you can just about make out here:



They're so strong you could pick the bike up with these without bending/damaging anything. Yes they are much more expensive than the one's you have purchased but you pay for the quality. In the event of a spill they will serve the purpose, some of the cheaper one's will not.

Yeh, your right.. im so anal about this bike, I would rather have the correct bobbings, After all, they are a saftey feature? Didnt like the idea of fixing them to engine. Thanks for you help, advice Alex.

i recently missed out on a set of none-cut R&G bugs on egay....went for like 70 quid, i didnt think that was that cheap till i later went to go purchase some on-line and see they cost around 120 quid new!!!! fk!!!! lol dont get me wrong, worth every penny but i didnt bother bidding to high on the egay ones thinking " thats prob not that much cheaper" lol

Alex, how about removing these mounts jotting down the dimensions and I will see if I can get a few plates made as I have a set of R&G bungs but don't want to cut my lowers as they are OEM.

I'll do it the next time I have the fairings off. It's all tucked up under a cover at the moment with a Ducati in bits (electrical problem, on a Ducati I hear you say?!) and an SV650 right next to it.
