I have been building my NC30 up over 2 years, bought bike as a NON runner (blown engine) the bike itself was cosmeticaly challenged. since bringing her back to life i have only ridden bike up and down back street, just to make sure she ran ok, clutch worked and selected through gears without any trouble. brakes worked as they should, etc? I had always planned to take bike to junction 33 dyno centre to get her set up right, as i had used original carbs off old engine and stuck them straight on to newer replacement engine (serviced,plugs, oil, filters, valve clearences done first) wich ran to rich (fuel) and had a noticable flat spot between 6000-7000 rpms?
So, bike has now had some dyno work done.. the print out shows a noticable difference in power and torque.

WHAT POWER HP/ TORQUE SHOULD I EXPECT FROM A STANDARD NC30 SET UP,,

Standard air box, stock filters and fueling, MTC Race can.
Max Power = 56.15/ Max Torque = 23.45

Air box removed, K&N air filter fitted, HRC carb/jet kit, MTC Race can.
Max Power = 60.06/ Max Torque = 27.95

Are these results ok,, or should i expect more!!!
I just need to replace the front fork seals today, get her ready for MOT & TAX this week.. and then i can get out and ride the bike, find out what all the hypes about with these little HONDA TROUSER FIREWORKS. TROUSER FIREWORK!

What power HP/ Torque is your NC30.. let me know. thanks, Moore

Those numbers are pretty typical.

Most decent street type setups will make about 60hp, perhaps a bit more depending on engine condition, bolt ons etc.

You might get more by fitting an aftermarket exhaust system, you'll certainly get better midrange torque, it's not all about peak hp numbers.

A fast race nc30/35 that's had a lot of engine work done will be kicking out about 70+ hp. This sort of power costs a LOT in the V4's!

RLR's last IoM tt rvf400 was kicking out 85hp, extreme stuff...

like i say, not even took the bike on a run yet. so i got nothing to compare it against at the mo (no previous outings). Im sure it will put a smile on my face either way i just wondered if other NC30 owners where getting more HP on similer set ups..

Im in love with the deep note from the race can and the grunt from air filter/box, sounds a different bike scince Dyno'd.. FORCE V4, Mmmmmh

Had mine on the Dyno before and after I started modifying it. Here's the figures:

Totally standard import NC30 (115f 118r):
58.0bhp / 26.4ftlb's torque

Full Tyga exhaust system w/carbon end can, carbon airbox, pipercross filter, Rick Oliver needles (raised 0.5mm), 120f 120r dynojet mains, Ignitech programmable CDI set to standard +2 map, drilled carb slides:
61.6bhp / 27.4ftlb's torque

Impressive toque curve on the modified set up, shame I cannot upload the graphs as I don't have scanned copies.

I didnt have a clue what my bike was going to be HP/ Torque wise before trip to the dyno centre, and i certainly didnt know what to expect from it when it came back! All i wanted was for the bike to run the best it can for what its running. spoke with Andy at dyno centre and agreed on the work which has been carried out? Its a peice of mind for me though, knowing that the bike ive just built has taken a good thrashing with no issues..
Ive been a member on hear scince i started my NC30 build/project, and always kept an eye on what you guys are riding, racing, buying, selling, modding, saying, thinking, eating, drinking and so on? lol
I know there are many ways to gain those extra HPs, which i will achive.. I know a full race system will make all the difference, also HRC programable ignition. which i currently dont have either (Yet)? So am i right in guessing i should be happy with the dyno result so far.. Moore

The figures you are boasting are fine. Early 50's and below is poor for a standard NC30 and a well spec'd bike with a healthy motor should achieve high 50's early 60's quite comfortably.
