NC30 Ignition Fault

Yesterday i put my NC30 on a rolling road to see what power it had lost over the years.

to my shock it was still putting out 59.5bhp and was drawing a perfectly straight line. The only problem was that this line went to pot when the engine revs went about 10,000rpm. the line became unstable and even skipped. After this dyno wen i was riding it i began to notice what they had said.

The people that did the rolling said that the air/fuel ratios where bang on and it was an iginition fault.

I have only recentley fitted new spark plugs so i presume they are fine. The guy told me to check HT leads, Coils if they was ok then it was the ignition box????

Has anyone else expectianced these symtoms? or can provide assistance in how to sort?

Regards James

Start by doing the common electrical checks described in the haynes manual or in the docs section of this site, then and only then should you bve looking at the CDI. dont think ive ever known one to go tho.

6 months ago, the recifier went taking out some of the wiring loop. i repair the cables. could this have an effect on the perforance. or the stator in the altanator?
