nc35 gearing

Just wondering whats the standard gearing and chain length for a standard rvf? My chain and sprockets need changing and i quite fancy going up a couple on the rear for acceleration, any recommendations?

help much appreciated

i know the chain is 102 links,

and i think its 15t x 38t off the top of my head.

yeah? have you run alternate gearing on an rvf before?

i have a 30 mate so wouldnt know, best guy to ask i guess would be tony/drunkn munky

i have just swapped my 15t for a 14t and it accelerates far better than the 15t

Standard is 15/38, i like 15/40 on the road for the RVF and upto 14/43 for the track

well depending on how you ride it etc i went for a 520 chain (£20 chain!) and got the sprockets from B&C for veryy little money, got renthal 40T 15T 14T for £59 delivered and then got an RK Tagasago 520 from ebay for £21 delivered, if you go down the 525 route it starts to get VERY expensive,

the 520 need more maintenance and more oftern,

the 525 less maintenance, cost more, and weigh more too.

Porndogs right about the 520 chains, 525's are overkill for a 400
