looking at getting a cbr 400 but not going to to miss a good vfr, so whilst looking on ebay i found this, i know its hard to tell from the pics but what do people think????? and what sort of price is it worth????

looks like a clean bike, and the 17" rear is a welcome upgrade,

however, dont be fooled by the looks, 1992, and thats the type one scheme (1989) so the plastics will either be cheap chinese fibre glass or from another bike, which could be subject to repairs,

also about the looks its easier to make a bike look good than run good, so speak with the owner get a spiderman feeling about the guy, and listen to the bike run, make sure it idles nice etc.

£1500-1700 max but id want to see before i made a bid, as it could be a lemon.

Looks like a good bike to me. It's not cosmetically perfect, as the owner has said, but still I think it looks a tidy example. If the motor and other running gear are all as good as the auction suggest then it'll go in the region of £1600 IMO.

It is alright, not liking the pretending to be an 1989 moto with painted gold calipers and the repainted RWB scheme.

Not got the headlight rubbers so I'd say it was not quite finished

What are you after?

Have you really got £1800 to spend on an NC30? If so, you can buy one from someone on here, probably have it delivered and know the history of it by looking through the forum user's posts..

My bike, has had loads spent on it but I would only value it to sell at £2000. The bike you just linked doesn't look like £1800 to me and cannot see why it would be to anyone?

For that money I would want a better shock, aftermarket system and the full servicing and valves sorted along with 12mth MOT and Tax
Or, buy one for £1000 (look in Ibby's thread for a nice enough OKI bike in Manc) and do it to your taste..

It might be an 89 bike just registered wrong, never go by the UK plate on an imported bike unless you've registered it yourself!

I've seen plenty of bikes on bizzare plates when people have imported them..

i do have the money, but i dont want to spend it if i dont have to, i dont want to pay over the odd, also i want a pretty std colour, no race reps or strange fairings.

I reckon see what there is in the for sale here - ChrisJa's UK bike is pretty good for the price!

i would add to whats been said. finding good bikes out there in the public domain has been a battle for the last 2 - 3 years, buy from someone here, will improve your chances on finding a cared for bike with no nastys lurking to bite.
good call on waiting for a bit and insist on original paint and panels.
