Fork Seal....On its way out??

My right hand fork seems to be leaking oil a little. It has got progressivly worse in the last few weeks. The problem I have is that I need to ride the bike home for the work to be done (maximum of 200 miles prob).

I don't suppose I would notice much of a difference in handling as I am really just a beginner but can anyone see any major problems with me riding this distance with a leaky fork seal?

Any help is appreciated!!

Brian

I've sent you a PM buddy, but in brief no, you wont do any harm. You just wont have any damping in that leg, thus halving the damping at the front end making it feel a bit springy. There will be enough residual oil left in there to stop anything rubbing. As previously mentioned, be extremely careful not to get any on your discs, a can of brake cleaner in your daysac would be well advisable.

take it easys on her. coz your oil it leaking, it could be going onto you front breaks so no harsh breaking, and just be safe

can you not put it in to a bike shop where you are to get it done.. than risk riding it home?
