i didnt think that they actually held the fairing in place, i saw a pic of one bike that had a brace running inwards from final (by knee) bolt holding two side panels together, so i went and made one out of (see a local engineer) nitronic stainless steel rod (used for yachts) blow torch sledge hammer and drilled holes in the end. i ve never seen this part for sale as you ll very nearly never see the front infills up for grabs. intakes go for (sometimes ) almost the same cost as new on ebay.

the air ducts hold the rear of the infill panels, top of the mid fairing panel clips in to the infill panel. so yes the infill and air ducts do play a part in holding things together.. like a jigsaw puzzle. mis a bit and the picture isnt complete.

i have seen in fills and ducts on ebay. some new, some not.
get a copy of MCN, look in the Bike mart section at the list of breakers, get calling round ask for pictures to be emailed to you on condition.
phone DSSpares/GF etc and ask for quotes on the same parts for comparison.

thats the puppies.. and yes they are supposed to be plastic, you can get fibreglass ones but they fit like crap! bought a pair and sent them back as they didnt slot in with OEM plastics at all.

do you have the black in-fill panels? these slot in to the ducts, nose cone and side panel.

ahh right - I do not have any of the duct

David Silver said there were 2 bits to the duct, inside and outside

if I go for those new fairings will I just need the inside bit from david silver? which are only £15 as opposed to the outiside bit which is £70 a piece ?

regards

click on the link to show you a microfiche of all the front panels.
number 2 IS the infill panel, youd need left and right sides.
number 3 and 4 IS the out side air ducts, expensive bits
number 5 and 6 IS the inside of the air ducts.

to have it all fit properly, you do need the whole lot. it all inter links.
keep an eye on ebay, ask Graeme France for parts, call up bike breakers for parts. its not easy to find this stuff, but doable.

@PompeyFC
I think i've got 2 complete silver air ducts in my garage - don't need them anymore, so you could have them...
Just have to look how expensive it is to send it from germany to you.
