Hiya All,

Crash Bungs - size of hole in fairing?
Whats the technique for taking the Side fairing on and off a NC29?!?! - with a Crash bung attached!?!?

I've tried taking the Side fairing on and off a few times this week end. The only what I could work it smoothly was lining up with the slots, fairing flush to the bike, and sliding her in - especially into the lower fairing/Wheelarch lug holes.

I just can't see how I can do this, with a huge crash bung in the way! The hole would have to the rectangular shape, for me to slide the Fairing piece to and fro.

hope you can advise!
I'm stumped! :?

Cheers
Martin

Make the hole a few mm BIGGER and it will slip over the bung with no problems.
i always move the panel over the bung, hold and slowly pull on the other end as it comes un-hooked from the lugs.
do the same in reverse for replacement.

i think mine were cut 2-3mm bigger than the diameter of the crash bung head.
i hook in the tabs with the panel beside the bung, slip over the bung and make sure tabs are in place before pressing the rest of the way.

Hi,
bought them here locally in Moscow. About 30 GBP. The plastic parts are replaceable I think like all other ones in UK

I have an NC30, but the fairing position is sort of similar. You can see in the pics how I cut my holes. The 'mushroom' part of the bung hides the larger cut - depends on the style of bung you have as to how good/bad it looks I guess. I use race glass, so I don't mind too much where or how much I cut. I have my fairing on and off a lot and this way saves a heap of time!
