Hi i have just got the misses a rvf 400 and the bloke i bought it off said he had fitted a HRC rear ride height spacer, however i would like to drop it back to a standard seat height as she is struggling a bit touching the floor, she hasnt been riding bikes for long and i think it would make her more confident, could anyone please tell me if there is a way to check if the "HRC spacer" has been fitted and if so where i could get a standard one from, i not sure if its a new u shape adapter or just some shims he has fitted.
Thanks

hi, i bet its just got a spacer in at the top of the shock.
remove the seat unit panels, slacken the top shock bolt and see if there is a spacer like a big U shape
if there is, remove it and tighten it back up

Yep thats right, there isnt a standard spacer, its either no spacer = standard ride height and spacer = HRC ride height.

Thanks for your replies, i will have to check it out, i wasnt sure if it was something strange like a different length dogbone at the bottom linkage but if its just a spacer at the top as you say then thats an easy fix.
Cheers

well the RVF linkage is different to the NC30 one and is used as a mod to lift a NC30 by and inch or so at the rear.
i guess you could reverse the mod and fit a NC30 link, prob wont do the handling any favours and could look a bit orange country choppers ;)
pair of ape hangers and your sorted - start a new trend

Just a quick reply to say it was just a spacer as you said, i also backed off the spring preload a bit, i now have a happy "short legged hobbit" who can touch the floor.

Cheers for your help.
