Silly question of the day (I've done some search on the forum but can't find a definite answer),
Will an RVF engine fit the NC30 frame?
if it does, is there anything special to be done?

yes, straight in. You need the loom and clocks etc for easy peasy-ness.
What have you got..just a motor??

I'm about to purchase an rvf engine (with some slight mods to it...

)
Will be running an Ignitech ecu, by clocks you mean the rev counter has to changed?

The electrics are quite different with single or dual pickups if you change these over with the stator/cdi you can still use your original clocks etc
Edge.

Considering your bike is currently in the stripped state its in I'd change the loom and clocks for rvf parts. If you want to keep the 30 clocks you can take the insides out of the rvf clocks and fit them inside the 30 clocks

You'll also need to tap 2 holes in the rvf engine to mount to the vfr frame, simple job with a good quality tap set, the size is M10 x 1.25.

Pretty sure it's the front engine mount holes, left and right sides, where the mounts hanging off the main frame spar are different between the rvf & vfr.
It's been a while since I put the rvf engine in my vfr but I seem to recall that the hole is there, just not tapped.
