LED indicators--sorted! at last!

Monday my RHS front indicator bulb (yes a normal filament bulb) blew.
ok you say, no problem, get another and bobs your auntie.......

nah.. far from it!
I have flush Motrax "micro mini flush mount" indis who seem to have use a weird sized bulb. my local auto electricians cant source it, all car shops i have tried cant get it or know what type of bulb it is, the only bulbs i can find online are from Motrax....10 bulbs for OVER £10 with out P+P!!!---screw that

bought 4 x 8mm clear water Yellow LEDs 4500Mcd, 20Ma, 2.0-2.4 Fv + related resistors (560R .5W for 12v & 680R .5W for 14v carbon comp) to work on a 12v or 14v system.
the LEDS will be hard wired in to the indicator bulb holders!
i think i will get hyper flashing as the rear indis are LEDs as well. will find out monday when i solder them in.

BUT... when bike is idling the voltage is 12-13v
when its being revved up the voltage goes UP to 14v.
i am inclined to use the resistors for 14v....
for those in the know.. what do you think?

Go with the 14V set to begin with as the LEDs will likely burn out with the 12V ones but if they are too dim you can then try the 12V ones.
As for the flash rate, if you have a mechanical type flasher unit it might not flash at all with all LED setup, if electronic flasher unit you should be ok. You say the rears are LED already, is the flash rate unchanged from standard? If unchanged/normal then probably an electronic flasher unit and you will be ok.

i havnt got a LED flasher fitted as so far the flash rates been fine. LEDs with resistors on every single one on the rear-- 21W X 2 bulbs front.
if i need a LED relay, i'll get one. need to see what they will do 1st.

rear lights construction 3-4 years ago, took me a weeks 30min lunch breaks to do the soldering/testing. i tested every single LED and again at every added layer of build. *touches wood* not had any LEDs fail.

finished article-brakes on, sidelights on. number plate lit as well. 93 5mm LEDs + 1ea Resistor.

will be as LEDs flash Amber, only have the flash rate to fix when new relay arrives.
MOT not for a few months anyway so got time to sort them out.

what a wasted lunch i had today!
relay arrived this morning.... it wasnt a Honda one as i had asked for.. it was Universal.
ok start to look at the box for wiring instructions.. "unplug one relay and plug in new one, simple as that"...
really?.. so where IS the plug on the new relay.. there isnt one. just red and black tinned ends wire. no plugs!
no diagram to tell me what wire goes where. i have a 3 pin plug and only 2 wires out this relay!
blew the dash fuse and almost melted the new relay wires attempting to find out how its supposed to be wired!
called shop where i bought it from, he says its universal, should fit any bike, should "just work" well it didnt love and it blew my fuse! he suggests i call Motrax... motrax said that i "have to have the Honda one", universal wont work?!!!
eh! so why is it called universal if it doesnt work on "any" bike?...

returning the relay as it wasnt what i asked for in the 1st place and wasted all my lunch break!
shop had my email addy, why didnt he email 1st and ask if he could send the universal instead of all this bollox!

at last.. a honda relay.

its odd not hearing that tick tick tick of indicators.... the flash rate has slowed down to normal. however i still have hazard lights instead of Left/right indicators.
i know if i pull out the dash bulb it will stop the hazard effect. but i dont want to do that.
i think i need one more bit of kit to sort it all out.

wouldnt wiring in resistors get rid of this hazzard effect?
