will replace that subframe with an alu one








headlights on


headlights off




many years of grime.....


As it stands today


Next to follow:
engine removal
frame / swingarm deep clean up
engine clean up and quick refresh
and a lot more

Excuse my ignorance but, Dude is this completely necessary?

Is there no way that you can get a stud extractor tool to the existing stud or has it broken to the head or below it?

I have various stud extraction tools available if you can tell me that you have direct access to the stud and if it is above the surface of the head.

I think he broke a stud on the exhaust section that you can see poking out from behind the shock in the picture with the dirty dirty swing arm Thebolts are welded to that section of exhaust, and can't be 'extracted.

Its a right pain in the ass to get it off without taking things like the engine out or swingarm off.

If you go that far, you may as well do a complete strip and be sure to check everything.

I did the same and ended up polishing the swingarm and frame to mirror finish, and spending a whole heap of money on new rads, gsxr conversion etc.

not doing it just for a stud
I had that planned for a while and today was the best day to get things started

Sadly all the rear bolts are rusted, the best thing to make sure I minimise breakage is to remove the swingarm.

Doing it, complete strip down.

Won't do the polishing, but new fairing is coming in, rebuild fork, partly rebuild engine, new rear shock, new foot pegs... etc...

As said earlier, I had that planned for a while now.

I've discovered something interesting as I removed the rectifier yesterday, it was a botch job from the previous owner...
He removed the plug and used spades, non isolated spade.... and they are rather dark.. and taped the all thing.
I ordered a Fazer 600 rectifier off fleebay.
