I'd just scour the net for a used one. If you're desperate for a brand new one, try DSS. It won't be cheap though.

You'd be better off posting this in the CBR section.. however have you checked your HT Leads, Coils and wiring back to the CDI unit.. no spark doesn't necisarily (soz bout the spelling) mean that the CDI is to blame.
Hope that helps,
Adam.
Please don't flame me if this has been reposted in the correct section.. I have not looked.

To be honest the CDI is probably the last thing to go.
Check the battery isn't low.
Renew the plugs.
Check all the plugs for a spark - which is easier at night.
If it's one plug then it could be the plug cap or ht lead. Unscrew the cap cut 1/2 cm off the lead and screw it back in.
If it's two plugs then it coul be a coil, check the wires going to that coil, take them off clean then and make sure they're tight when you put them on again.
If it's all four then have a look at the crank sender (on the right of the engine) trace the wires through to the loom and clean the connector, check the wires on each side of the connector are the same colours too.

Hi lee, hope you have sorted your cdi prob out but if not may i suggest checking the regulator rectifier. my aero kept giving me grief until one day the battery boiled. when i put a new one on the cdi started smoking. See my previous post history. i was advised to check the reg. rect. coz the cdi is quite an expensive piece to get, if u can get one. I replaced the reg. rect. and hey presto. Sweet as a nut and the cdi was ok. Running better than ever and not too expensive either. Good luck-----Mitch
