CBR NC23 Aero oxygen starvation??

Afternoon all - have managed to get my Aero started with the airbox and filter off, and she runs beautifully, but as soon as the air filter is placed onto the bike, it dies within a couple of seconds. The air filter is not damaged and air passes through ok, but (with the tank on a chair at the side of the bike) when the air filter is placed onto the airbox, its like a switch and she dies. Can't blip the throttle to prevent it, she just dies.
Am I missing something stupidly simple?? Is there a secondary air intake anywhere that could be blocked and the amount of air required is just being stifled by the filter??
Cheers from Confused of Leicester...

Have you checked the jets in the bike? Why have you been taking it to bits?
Sounds like it needs a carb clean and find out what is in them.
Also, choke - is it stuck or does it work?

Cheers for the reply CMSMJ1 - had numerous problems with the bike and its been stripped and reassembled more times than I can remember - the carbs have been stripped, cleaned and reassembled and I've put some carb cleaner through them whilst running. There have been numerous intermittent problems but this is the latest one, and I'm struggling to understand what's going on!

May be running rich - check the jets.

Thanks for that Wozza - think you may be right as the plugs (which were clean when they went in) are now sooty and black - I'm putting a new set in as I understand that once these are fouled, that's it. In all honesty, I think that's pretty crap that one episode of flooding trashes £25 worth of plugs...
Will check the jets and see what happens.
Cheers all...

Plugs can be cleaned up, or...

(Check they are correct for the Aero)

That sounds like a really choked filter!!!!!
It looks like the main jets and primary jets are dirty, you need to get the carb bowls off and clean the jets.
