Finally got out for a ride today as the weather was peeeeerrrrfect!!! only fcuking issue was that after about 6 miles the bike started to feel like it was running out of fuel ... I had this issue late last year and thought the problem was cured and I put it down to sticky fuel tap internals..

So what is the general thoughts on doing the ("HRC" ) bypass mod?? is it still a no go area?? is there another options when it come to fuel taps for the little V4 that doesnt rely on a vacuum??

Oh!! should also say that I checked the Vacuum hose and all seemed well and also took the fuel tap apart and gave it a clean and inspection, I didnt see any holes or the like in the diaphram...

Just out of interest what is the internal diameter of the vacuum pipe anyway?? should have checked when I was at the workshop ..

HRC all the way, never have an issue with fueling then, just remember to turn on or off, and i always did that with my older bikes any way, as a precaution if it was stolen theres a small chance that were it to stall it could buy you the time for it to be recovered!

the only problem i dislike about my HRC option is when you forget to turn the tap on youll wake up to a wet garage floor where the bike has pissed its self, and youll lose a few litres over night!
it was also a bitch to start aswell when i did this,

i know becuase i did it once.

but its never let me down when ridding which i guess is the most important thing,

i think the bext option would be if we could sort something is a reliable solenoid valve, (small & reliable important words to consider!) so that as soon as the ignition is on the valve is open?

Can I just put a cap on the vacuum hose after the MOD??

i dont get what you mean?
when you do the HRC, you remove the spring and reverse the diaphram so it stays open constantly,
you no longer need the vacuum,

the idea of the vacuum hose is that is stop fuel pouring into the carbs/cylinders once the bike is not running.

you also have too plug the vacuum and over flow holes,

i just used a piece of tube and made a Ubend and that what they cancelled each other out.

I really wouldnt recomend the HRC mod for a road bike with out some kind of dry break connection, buts thats mostly cos i have the memory of a fish.

ricky, i like the sound of that solinoid idea. im gunna need to mod my tap and need a dry break that less hassle than a manual one, its just the reliability that concerns me.

sounds like it will be my next project after discovering and guinea pigging the K&N panel.

Nah ment the Vaccum hose that comes from the cyclinder..

i just put a 10mm m5 allen bolt in
