Is it true that if i have alloy fittings on my front brake hoses it's an MOT failure, because thats whats on my bike at the moment and i'm not far off ready for an MOT?

aparently but more likely to be an advisory.

i swapped mine for SS goodridge as soon as i got my nc30 still have the alloy ones to get sell at some point.

So it could be worth a chance then. Saying that though i might as well change the hoses anyway if i'm going to be doing the back one. I dont know how old the hoses on the front are and have no idea of a lifespan of the inner part or coloured fittings which are fading away nicely.

I don't know if it's an MoT fail, but I can tell you they're a liability. These were on a fireblade I bought which had been stood a while, unwashed.

Salt gets in there, corrodes the aluminium, and the build up of white powder (ooo-err) forces the fitting apart from the inside. The corrosion happens quicker than usual on aluminium due to galvanic corrosion, something about the stainless hose and aluminium fitting act as cathode and anode and, blah blah blah... you can see what happens in the end.

Sh*t or bust mate, they're definately coming off now. Thanks for that shocking image my minds made up for sure.
