What tool are you using to loosen the bolt?
Drench it with WD40 and let it soak in and try again.
Theres always going to be disagreements about rivets and clip links. If it were my bike, I'd leave my old chain on and fit the new sprockets. Ride down to the nearest bike garage and get them to fit the new rivet chain. Shouldn't cost anymore than a tenner.
Alternatively, you could borrow a chain tool from someone.

my chain is unusable. its that stiff you can mold the chain to different shapes. dont know whether WD would help out at all as the chain is all rusty and thick of crap..

i used a normal spanner to undo the bolt, so atm, the bike has no bolt to hold on the sprocket on that doesnt come off anyway, also, whats the torque pressure thing for fitting the bolt again?

I haven't got my haynes handy because I'm at work but I'm sure someone will come along and tell you the torque setting.
I wouldn't spray the chain with WD40, just in and around the sprocket. I'm sure the chain you've got on will last the trip to a garage.
I had a proper nightmare with putting my chain on and broke a chain tool that wasn't mine. Eventually borrowed another which was of better quality and managed to get it done. If I were to do it again I'd happily take it to the garage and let them press it on for less than a tenner and save myself the ball ache.
Good luck!

the chain wont make it to the garage :/

im definatley going to have to replace it before i get her on the road..
ive found a cheapish chain kit on fleabay for just under £50.

i asked him the specs of chain and sprockets
he replied with
Hi, the brand is stock dependant so i can't give you an exact brand although it's usually either RK, EK, Regina, CZ or DID.

The link supplied will be a split link and not a rivet one sorry.
im thinking would that do while i learn to ride the bike.. then upgrade to a DID rivit chain etc for when i feel confident on the bike

why not fit the split link so you can put the new chain on and then either get a rivet link and borrow a tool or take it to a bikeshop and get them to rivet the link.

I had a splitlink clip come off mine once so would always go for the riveted link.

With your sprocket, it should just pull off once the bolt is out. its just held on the splines.

Have you taken the bolt off yet? If not it might be easier to get someone to sit on the bike and push the rear brake down while you use a long handled socket wrench. I had to use my cheap big torque wrench for the leverage as it was that tight, once its lose align and pull the sprocket off, if its tight try to get something like a small spanner behind the sprocket and nudge it forward bit by bit until you can get your fingers behind.

Looking on ebay find Hunters from Newcastle, they sell DID Xring at a competetive price and are worthy of a purchase, rather than buy twice. Lots of people use split links on 400s and other bigger bikes but you are better off following the advise here and get someone to fit a soft link. If you do fit a split link to ride to your local garage check twice that you fit the clip the right way round as its easy to get that wrong.

Soft link everytime and as posted before and go for the best option you can afford it will be cheaper in the long run - also have you tried slackening your chain to take off the tension off the front sprocket , may make it easier . See if GF has any deals he can help you with chainwise ;)

the chain is not on the rear wheel so its not tight. and dont rivit chains come already joined? i asked a few bikers today and they said they already come joined so you to remove swingarm to fit them??

and yeah the bolt is out

Some do. But most supply it with a soft link for you to rivet.
