Newbie Clutch Question

I've been referring to this issue as slipping but should I of been saying dragging?

Say I'm tootling along in 3rd, then I decide to accelerate, when I give the throttle a tug the revs spin up and the bike seems like I've pulled the clutch in. It happens mainly in the lower gears, it's becoming a right pain as 2nd is a nightmare, have to be really easy on the throttle and if it spins up I have to back off until the revs drop and it 'catches' again. Is that dragging or slipping?

Also, clutch is fully adjusted so I think it needs either a new set of friction plates or springs (although would it be worth doing both at once for the sake of it?). Thinking of having a go myself as it doesn't look overly complex, parts come out and parts go in.

Cheers,
Dan

Yes it sounds like the clutch is past it's best. If you have a look at the sticky thread at the top of the workshop section on how to replace clutch plates you will find it very useful. :peace:

Worth doing the springs at the same time? Also am I right in saying the cheapest/best place to get 'em would be Rick Oliver?
