I've been loaned an abba stand off a friend to do my chain and sprocket and i was wondering how easy would it be to remove the shock and linkage and give them a good clean and regrease?
I only have a basic 3/8 socket set, is it worth waiting until i have more time + my own stand?

It is very easy mate. Especially with an abba stand.

Little tip. Have a axle stand to hand to support the swingarm once the linkage comes out ;)

Yeah pretty easy with some decent sockets.

If it's anything like the NC24, all you need are 14mm and 17mm sockets and spanners. Five minute job.

Get a jack and cardboard under the rear caliper thereby lifting the swingarm up and allowing the bolts from the linkage to come out, they wont come out otherwise, its a tricky job.

just removed the shock and linkage, cheers for your advice, the rear paddock stand came in handy when the swingarm dropped.
my question now is how do i tell if the linkage bearings need replacing....if so where can i get them?

cheers,
Ben.
