Any clues?

Have had battery on OPTIMATE for 2 months now. But have not started the bike.

I tried today but it did not even fire!

What advice can anyone give me, as I tried until I flattened the battery. 2 months ago it was absolutely fine

might be worth gettin the battery tested. have you a multimeter?
have you tried bumping it? pain in the arse but it can be done. once it is running you can check its receiving charge and holding it.
the following guide may help

It was a new battery last summer
I was just surprised it did not even attempt to fire.
Its back on the Optimate so will try again in a day or 2

thanks

It would not hurt to jump start it to a car battery would it?

I have always been under the impression this is not a good idea, I may be wrong though.

I thought a car battery whacked too many amps through cos you can't use a car battery charger on a bike battery without killing it I think , someone correct me I'm wrong though !

I use a car battery charger on mine, usually ony flick it on for a few hrs at a time just to 'keep it topped up' so to speak
Last year the winter killed a new battery, this year all has been well......... so far

The bike's electrical system will only draw the current it needs from a car battery. The only reservation is that the car should not be running while jump starting a bike due to possible over-voltage damage to the bike's electrical system.

:plus: on that,

as an electrician,

current is something you take not give,

voltage is something you give and not take,

capische?

and i used a 12V 95AH battery in my garage for starting, jumping, testing shit etc it stays fully charged for months!
