Best ad in the world... But where is the NC/RC?

In my opinion, the vehicles shown in this short film represent a few of Honda's greatest masterpieces which were, at the time the ideas of their production were concepted, just 'impossible dreams' to all other engine manufacturers. So, where the fuck is the NC/RC?! These bikes were evidently years and years before their time, with their single sided swingarm, USD forks etc.. In fact, they still out handle almost any bike on the road!!

Haha, seriously though this is one of my favourite ads.

Although, it is probably topped by this one below. How he says the whole speech in one take, timed to perfection, is a mystery to me.

Enjoy!

at the time this ad was out on tv there was a break down on the honda website where they told you the reason behind each car/bike used. ok the rc/nc are great bikes but com on they can't put everything up.

A master class of the actors' craft by Robert Carlyle. Ambitious. Simple. Brilliant.

Thanks for posting.

I can't remember what the breakdown said.

Although the NC/RC are good sucesful bikes, they are probably not as well known in wider circles that the TV would reach as some of their other iconic imagary, which is probably what decided what was shown.

Dont' forget, they are just 80's / 90's sports bikes to most people, at a time when superbikes were plenty, and even the NC/RC have their roots in older bikes.

The 80's RVF400's for one, the RC166 of the 60's had a dry clutch / 7 speed box and 18,000rpm, as well as 6 cylinders... single sided swingarms are at leasy 70 years old now. Many of the Moto Guzzis of the 1940s had Single Sided Swinging arms.

The advert would have to be at least an hour long to include a good shot of everything good they've made! :-)

Still, it's a great advert.
