Project track dog! Getting less doggy!

Hi everyone thought i would share with you my NC30 project. I bought it last year to do the odd trackday on but now would like to do the odd race with it also. I bought the bike cheap as a non running trackbike that looked like it has bitten the tarmac a little too often. I didn't take long to sort the running problems and i soon had it booked in for a dyno run at which it produced 63 ish horses.

I was very chuffed but on its first trackday it handled like a pig so from then on ive been slowly sorting everything to make it right. My first purchase was going to be a rear shock and a fork upgrade to replace the tired ones fitted but then evil bay decided to tempt me with some Dymags!

Image

These were originally fitted to a Honda rs250 so wouldn't be a straight swap but with some correct spacers and a disk bolt mod everything is perfect.

Got loads more to add to the bike over the next few weeks.
Sorry for all the small pictures, will upload them correctly soon. Thanks

Thanks Mate, its amazing how fast stuff can be churned out from a cnc! That hub was bloody hard metal though to countersink. Just needs some tyres now so i can get it rolling on them.

A little update today.
Managed to source some tyres so i can have the bike rolling on the new wheels and check out chain clearance etc. Im going to fit 520 chain and sprockets on the bike later on this week and hopefully wont need to use Rick olivers sprocket spacers.

One thing that will have to go is the standard chain guard so i may just route the rear brake hose through the swing-arm to get it out of harms way.
Thanks

Thanks Kris. Think the reverse cylinder is getting jealous with the amount of time/money im spending on the NC!
Another little update today. My half race system has arrived with some 520 sprockets (thanks Tony) so will be fitting these tomorrow along with an aftermarket rear shock that should be arriving also.
In the mean time im just consentrating on making everything work/feel correct i.e grease headbearings, rear hub, linkages etc.

Managed to fit my ali half system this morning along with the 520 chain and sprockets, settled with a 15 front 42 rear for the moment and see how it goes. Managed to re-fit my chainguard with minimal modifications so left the rear brake hose how it was instead of drilling the swing-arm.

One thing that did surprise me was how light the exhaust was, time will tell if its any good or not once ive gone back to the dyno. Also when looking at the wiring ive noticed that the cdi has been taken apart and a new end cap fitted hence me thinking its been re-mapped? has anyone else seen this done before?

Thanks

Yeah, ive seen that. i recently got a badly listed cdi from ebay for £4 & it looks exactly the same, i opened it, as im like that & i couldnt see anything out of the ordinary.

i suppose i'll have to wait & see.

Nice build by the way.

Managed to find a few hours yesterday so decided to cut down the rear subframe and undertray. Really wanted one of Ricks ali ones but just don't have the spare funds at the mo.

Building it back up tommorrow as its booked in for a dyno session Saturday to see what can be extracted from it.
