Rear shock choices

I've seen a few posts on here saying that some people replace their rear shocks with K7 GSXR units. Mine needs a service as its a bit saggy, is the GSXR unit a direct fit or does it need to be modified in any way?

thanks

I've just picked up a Hornet Showa rear shock for my 24. It's just a dumbed down version of the CBR600RR shock, it only has preload adjustment. It's rare for me to need to fiddle with compression and rebound on rears anyway so for £20 and 6000 miles on it, I'm happy.

K6-K7 GSXR600 and 03-06 CBR600RR fit but requires the battery to be moved and because the shock linkage runs on a different ratio they will be too soft for the NC30/35 so need a new spring.

Best option is to get a late model NC30 shock (the one with the remote reservoir connected by the hose) and get it rebuilt or buy an aftermarket shock such as Hagon, Maxton, Nitron etc.

Hope this helps
