NC30 CARBS - STRIP, CLEAN & REBUILD - ADVISE PLEASE

Hello - As per title.

1 of my "new arrivals" an 89' NC30, has had fat un-experianced fingers play with & apparently "fix" the carbs - this is bad, as i have come to discover today!

So i thought i would get them off to take a look & wow, it was like being in a horror film, it got worse & worse as i went on & im still no nearer to seeing the light & now i have a big pile of parts.

I have no problem in putting them back together, all the broken & damaged parts will be swapped out for replacement parts from another set of carbs but these, even though bodged to buggery, are the best base.

Im just wondering about how Mr Honda had the bike leave Japan & how the bike needs to be now, in its current state of "tune" for a better word.

Between the 2 sets of carbs i have 2x 115, 2x 116 & 4x 118 main jets.

The bike is standard apart from an M-MAX de-restrictor & a straight through race can fitted to a standard system.

I know i can get more main jets from ebay for a few £ each, so how should i put them back together.

I was thinking 118's in the front & 120's in th rear - any good??? & what about the rest?

Ideally, i would like a spec from start to finish, so i can sit down & put a set of carbs together.

Thank you, Colin.

Have a lok at the sticky written by Cammo on carb cleaning. First class information and absolutely spot on, it's the top thread on this page.

I had a few options but ended up following the Cammo thread and fitted the standard needles in and worked a treat however I have the standard exhaust system.

Used Cammo's guide myself and it't first class. Glad you're sorted.
