nc35 carbs on a 30

ive just fitted 35 carbs on my 30 tickovers a bit erratic and it doesnt rev cleanly after 5000 rpm any ideas ? im going to balance them tomorrow to try and clear it up a bit will the jets need changing ?

This is a mod a few lads on here have done. Not sure if anyone uses them on road bikes tho as they don't use the return cable.

I fitted rvf carbs to my roadie, work fine (you don't need a return cable - it's overkill).
I think you need to provide more info on your issue.
Needle type/height? Main jet size? Any mods? Etc...

will whip them out this morning and check jet sizes and needle postion ps whats the best way to set the float height

the rear jets are 118 and the front are 116 the bike runs fine up to 5000 rpm and then just splutters the needles are on the stand position do i need to go down some jet sizes ie to the standard rvf 108 ? ps the bike has a race can but im putting the standard can back on cheers

and ive also fitted a uk spec speedo which does not have the jap wiring will this make any differance to the running

is the speedo conected? sounds to me as if the limp home mode is kicking. Take the rev limit wire from the ecu and connect it to 12v+. its pink i think
118 jets are a very over sized for a standard motor, back to standard or 110's

the rev limit wire ? is this because ive got the uk speedo on . the jap speedo had a wire which the uk one didnt will this be part of the problem then is there a way round this cheers

just read more into your reply the pink wire needs wiring up to 12+ that be direct to the battery then or any live feed

yeah thats right, its pink on the rvf maybe different on the vfr, just splice it into a live feed behind the clocks.
