Hi just a question I have an 89 nc30 and with this cold spell have noticed it running quite ruff. Has anyone else had this experience if so what is the solution? Don't say stopped riding in this weather!

Never come across carb icing on the V4's i've ran mine down to around -4 withouth too much of an issue.

It is possible.

Well it was this morning feels fine when above a few thou revs and when on tickover just feels a bit ruff and ready to cut out. Been told to put in super unleaded!

I can't imagine Super unleaded doing anything

It's a higher octane, which means it's more knock resistant, so unless your having pre-ignition problems (doubtful as these bikes were designed for 91 octane fuel which is well below even regular unleaded in the UK)

Dont' forget there old bikes and do run a bit lumpy when cold, it might just be that it takes longer for the engine to warm up so seems 'rougher'?

never had a prob with carb icing as long as the bike was warmed up well before riding. my NC takes a while to warm up in any weather anyway... and is useless before it does.
