Now I'm a fully paid up member, I thought I'd make a thread for my other bikes (Got one for the NC30 already)

This was my first bike bought for me when I turned 16 ot get me to and from college. Lasted me 10,000 miles before going bang 2 weeks before it was due to be retired


Spec:
1984 Suzuki TS50XKE
RM80 carb, home derestricted exhaust otherwise stock.

This is my ongoing project, traded it for a £65 cg125, rebuilt the top end and got it running, I've fitted a working YPVS system to it, and just need to find the time to finish it off, then I can either sell it or use it as a muck around commuter bike.


Spec:
1991 Yamaha TZR125 3PC2
Full servo YPVS system, derestricted exhaust, Goodridge braided brake lines, minor porting, single seat cowl.
previously dyno'd showing a fraction over 22bhp at the wheel.

This is my first big bike, which may actually appeal to you as it actually belongs on the frum

1988 CBR400RRJ TriArm, registered as an '89 bike but has the unrestricted CDI. I won it on eBay for £700 with a years MOT. It's done 6,000 miles with me now, and every single one has been great, did 500 miles in a weekend without missing a beat :D


Now it looks like this, I've given it stainless steel Motad pipes and stubby stainless ART can (soon to be changed for a 1 piece aluminium DIC system) reflective red wheel stripes to add a little colour, I did have some shorty levers, but had to take them off for the MOT they will be donated to the VFR, so might get another pair :D It needs a good strip down, clean/grease up and rear brake overhaul, so will be doing that over the winter now that the bad weather is finally here.

Motad s/s pipes (soon to be changed to DIC alu 1 piece) Art s/s stubby can, motrax miles/km convertor.

And finally my current project, which many of the Honda V4 guys will probably know, my 1989 ('91 registered) NC30. Bought it on eBay aswell, this time for £690 with a months MOT and 8 months tax.
Since buying it I've changed the end can, the bent clutch lever, the nosecone and seat unit, I resprayed the tank white, changed the rear wheel for a white one and fixed a couple of niggles.

I have a list of parts I have to fit, I'll try and get them done before april when my insurance is due for renewal. It's things like the TSR stainless exhaust and rejetting the carbs to suit, RVF front end, RWB panels (hopefully sorted them out, will find out monday) swapping my screens over from a silly dark damaged one to a medium tinted pyramid one in good condition. I'll try updating when I can, hopefully by the end of next week :D

1989 VFR400R NC30
later generation suspension (soon to have NC35 forks) cut standard system with oval carbon can, carbon chain guard, fuel tank cap cover, clock surround and mudguard (for the nc35 set up)

Soon to have NC35 forks and brakes, TSR stainless exhaust, EBC Prolite front discs, UK spec MPH speedo and type 1 RWB bodywork

Tzr 125's are cool, my 1st bike many moons ago, are the YPVS systems still like rocking horse poo?

Blimey that takes me back! you were quite posh if you had one of them when i was 16! But they were slow as shit if i remember rightly!!!

TZR125, a right badboy!! Loved them, but i had a rxs100 a lad down the road bought a brand new 125gamma he worked on trawlers he was loaded!! bastard!!

Yup, I paid £30 for a working one with no connectors, and £70 for one in good condition lol took ages to get it set up right lol

Lol yeh, it would show a bit over 40 on the speedo (so about 35? ) so wasn't THAT slow, was one of the fastest true 50's at college, only beaten by the 2 rs50's that were there. Was also the oldest thing there, but easily the most reliable :D

I wanted an RXS100 at 17, but ended up with a CG125, would have loved to have had a stroker, but would have killed it doing over 15k a year


I've had a look at Cammo's carb guide and it would appear I have non standard needles, they have a couple of grooves in them will have to get some pics up to show you guys what I mean :)

Got an Abba stand on order now so hopefully I'll be able to start pulling the old '30 front end out by the end of the week. My bearings haven't arrived yet, but thats no problem (yet!) I should also be getting a small package from DSS later this week, got some UK spec tank stickers, gear rod, lower dust seal and sub air filter ordered :D

I'll be doing a step by step picture update of the fork swap, If it's good enough and people are interested I'll make a copy like Cammo's carb guide Might even be able to confirm something I'm really looking forward to

I had a TS50X when i was 16 too, (well 15) mine was L-reg & had the m&p 80cc or 90cc big bore, big port kit on it & with a home made ram air set up, a big carb, carbon racing reeds & a full dep system, it did 60mph on the clock all day long - was faster accelerating than my mates 205 gti @ the time!
Didnt get many miles out of them though before needing another rebuild, maybe 500 if you were lucky but for what they were, they were great fun!!!!!!

I like the TZR, always wanted 1 when i was younger but ended up with a very fast but very ugly AR125 - it had similar treatment to the TS50 & did about 110mph but it always ended in tears, well melted pistons or siezure usually - shitty cut disc valve!!!!!!!!

I really like the nc23, 1 of my fav late 80's super-sports in the best colours.

Abba stand arrived today, it was sent yesterday so well chuffed, cant wait to test it out on the CBR (NC30 and NC23 share the same fitting kit) The quality is excellent, really well made bit of kit, came ready greased (lovely thick stuff) Also they're offering to refund the return postage for a picture of your bike on the stand, so you get £6.95 back from the initial £104.90.

As for the bikes, The CBR has stayed in use apart from tuesday and wednesday this week when it was stupidly icy, used it for work today, took this about 3 minutes before I set off. Started first time on half choke so well impressed



The headstock bearings for the VFR still aren't here, which is a little annoyng seeing as the massive Abba stand can get here next day I've also bought another front wheel for it, it's in white so won't need powder coating (yet) It has been curbed, just like my CBR's wheel and it does have a very minor dent, but not bad for £20

Fk sake, ordered the bearings last thursday night (25th) they turned up today, but instead of a pair of needle roller type bearing I have one of those and one stock ball type. Could have the RVF yokes in today if they'd sent the right ones
