Oil Weep

Hi all,
Got a little bit of a problem. My bike appear to be weeping a little bit of engine oil from around/behind the front sprocket cover. Not a lot, as the oil level's berely moved, but somewhat disconcerting.
The front sprocket was removed and replaced last year sometime, and the bike's only done a handful of miles since. Is something mis-aligned, or is it likely to be something a little more serious?
Won't get a chance to get the cover off until tomorrow, just wondered if this is a common problem or want to know what to expect.

Could be the the slowest seepage ever... After you haev done some miles on it see if it still happens. The O ring might just be dried up somewhat with the lack of oil and warmth?
Knowing you...it won't be chain fling

Cheers, it's definately engine oil (I use chainsaw lubricant for the chain).
I can't seem to find the archives to the old forum for a search on there, but have found a very small amount of information on a 'pushrod' seal?
Is this something likely to have been disturbed when the front sprocket cover was removed? I'm at a loss to wonder where else such a leak could be coming from, no other seals, other than the rubber gaskets on the cam covers, have been disturbed.

Didn't get a chance to take a look yesterday - weather was so good so I went out riding instead.
Is this a common problem - I still can't seem to access the old forum to search there??

The old forum is on crm250.co.uk/400greybike - or similar.
The output shaft seal is one I do remember being discussed...but was it a crankcase splitter or not to replace? I cannot recall!

I hope it isn't

If that's what's needed I'll have to break the bike for spares, there's no way I've got enough time these days to carry out that kind of work.
I'll PM CRM to try and get a link to the old site.
Cheers.

Thanks Paul for the link - it's in the News section, doh.
Nothing relevant came up on the search though. I'm a bit worried to say the least.

Just a thought, mine was leaking from roughly the same area. It turned out to the the water pump o-ring seal. Wasn't a big job to do. I did a write up in the old forum if its any help.

Panic over somewhat. I removed the sprocket cover this evening and to reveal no sign of origin for the leak - there was oil misting higher up near to one of the engine mounting points. Further examination revealed oil misting that seems to be eminating from either the rear rocker cover gasket or the crankcase breather gasket higher up. I will be placing my order from David Silvers shortly.
Phew!

Great to hear that it was a "minor" issue.
It must have made you mad to see it dirty..
pesky oil..much better in the bikes than on them..
