On an NC30 R3N, at what temp (degrees C) does the fan switch on when the engine coolant starts to rise?

According to the haynes, and i quote "when the temp reaches around 98 to 102 the meter reading should drop to zero ohms"
however in the real world on my UK bike it kicks in around 2/3rd's of the way on the guage and takes forever if left ticking over to reach that. mind you my rads are new and perfectly clear.
