next year i'll be looking to get a NC23 CBR and put a 600 body kit on it. i also want the underseat zaust so ive heard its best to fit the 600 swingarm..

what are the negatives of this?

will the NC23 wheel still fit? or do i need a CBR600RR rear tire also?

would a standard 600rr zaust fit into a NC23 or will i need a custom zaust made?

could someone share some light on the issue please

Why do this? Why not just buy a CBR600RR? The '03 model is getting below £3k now.

i'll be 17 and restricted to 33bhp, insurance will kill me on the actual 600, thats if anyone would insure me!

But surely insurance on a modified 400 is going to be similarly expensive.

Why not stick with a standard looking 400 for the next couple of years and then move up to a 600. or get an older 600 thats restricted and not crippling on insurance.

What are you gonna do, ride it or take photos of it?

Get a 400, make sure it's mechanically sound, get the suspension sorted, get some sticky tyres and get out on it. Do a few trackdays. Get some nice original fairings if you really want, but don't forget you're probably gonna drop it / crash it.

For me, performance is a much bigger priority than looks. Do the two years, get the experience, then if you want a modern sexy bike get one.

Seconded... dont spend money on something you will more than likely put thro a hedge/bonnet in your first year...

Best save the dosh for a 600 in a few years, besides:

NOTHING feels as good as doing a bigger bike on a 400....

If they see you struggling on what looks to be a CBR6 then - well - an outsider may veiw you to be a Bit Crap. ;)

If you want something more modern looking, why not get an NC29 or NC35? Yes the initial cost will be a bit more than an NC23 but would be cheaper overall than the mods you're thinking of.

Jesus Christ guy's, is this the kind of advise and guidance you give to young lads looking to get their first big bike, "don't get anything nice coz your only going to put it through a hedge or over the bonnet of a car" how about a little encouragement, half the fun of owning a bike especially when your young is taking it apart modifying it and making it your own, DK-Tandy the guy you want to talk to is Sanchez not sure of his screen name on the new forum but his bike is in the gallery I think, he did the 600RR conversion and underseat system on his NC29 and it looks awesome, also LoydieCBR I think his name is did the 600 farings on his NC23 have a look around the forum and search function there are loads of people on here willing to help and give (useful/constructive) advise good luck and have fun make sure you take loads of pictures of the build.
