RVF air screw in or out richer or leaner ?

I keep ketting mixed up with these, so the standard settings for a RVF are 1 and 5/8s out. does more out mean leaner or richer ?

and am i right in thinking the NC30 is the other way round ?

I thought that turning outwards added more air to the mixture, therefore making the mix leaner. It's been the case with every bike/car I've worked on 8-)

RVF - Clockwise (in) to richen
VFR - Clockwise (in) to lean
