removing corossion from engine?

I need some advice on removing the corrosion/ oxidation from my RVF engine. It is an import from Japan and has the usual (so I'm told) surface corrosion in the engine block/heads and carbs. It will not wash off to my satisfaction however it has no impact other than that I know it's under the fairings. \i can remove it mechanically with wire brush but wonder if there is any product or procedure to remove it chemically with engine and accessories left on the frame....the easy way.

I'm thinking that there is no easy way but let me know .

Thanks,

Lee

I use gunk in a cheapy spray can and use a stiff brush, on harder spots I use a brass wire brush.

It's hard work and messy but does get it clean.
I then use motorex shine and polish

Gives it a sheen

If you keep the bike outside or somewhere damp its going to happen again anyway, probably a job best saved for when the engine is out.. you can polish up all the corroded bits and either pain them or laquer them.
